About FLOWERBOX254

Ayesha

Owner & Founder

For as long as I can remember, I have had a deep love for flowers and plants.

When I was nine, I built my first “greenhouse hut” from fallen tree branches and sheets of plastic secured with thumb tacks. I was fascinated by the process of watching flowers grow. That sense of curiosity and wonder stayed with me throughout my life.

Life took me along many different paths, but in 2019, my journey brought me back to flowers.

I could not be more grateful that it did.

That was the beginning of Flowerbox254, a Kenyan florist built around a genuine respect for flowers, the people who grow them and the people who receive them.

Today, my team and I work with flowers grown in Kenya, sourcing from both small-scale growers and large flower exporters to give our customers access to a broad and distinctive selection of fresh flowers and foliage.

We also believe that being a florist means taking responsibility for what happens to flowers after they have been enjoyed. We up-cycle and reuse wherever possible, and dry and preserve flowers that can be given another life. What cannot be salvaged is respectfully composted.

Our approach is simple: source good flowers, handle them properly, waste as little as possible and make sure they reach the recipient looking beautiful.

I feel very fortunate to be doing this work in Kenya, surrounded by a team who share my respect for flowers and the growers behind them. The Story Behind Flowerbox254
